Some Background
As of the date of this post, I am the owner of what is likely the smallest Insurance Agency in Southern Illinois. (certainly as small as it can get) My agency is a one-owner business with a solid, quaint book of clientele. I am the receptionist, the janitor, the manager, the marketing representative, the agent, the research and development department, the customer service representative, and everything else. The very essence and definition of a "sole proprietor". And I kinda like it that way!
This represents something like my third official "business venture". I have also operated a computer consulting, repair, and sales business since 1997. At one point I had 2400 sf of retail and repair space and 4 employees. And I also had a small sign business, which I operated for a few years until my knees and my eyes would no longer let me continue in that line of work.
It is my belief that each of us should maintain multiple sources of revenue to help us weather the storms of life. And I have endeavored to do just that for many years.
I have a degree in Computer Aided Design and Manufacturing. And I have an extensive background in Architecture, Construction, Auto Repair, Art, and Antiques.
